If for some reason the Tote dividend becomes higher than the Starting Price, you will then receive the bigger return. This means that you will always receive the best possible payout when your horse wins.
The Tote Guarantee is available for eligible customers online on the Tote betting site and also at select racecourses, so it is a very popular promotion for horse racing events.
Key Tote Guarantee T&Cs:
Tote always pay at least SP on Win bets and if the Tote dividend is greater, they’ll pay out at that price. Tote.co.uk, Tote.ie, Tote App and selected UK and Irish racecourse customers only. Promotion applies to Tote Win and win part of each way bets on all UK & Irish races. Limits apply. Full terms and conditions apply.
Betting Tips
The Rose Of Lancaster Stakes is the feature event in the North West while we get to see some top international jockeys at Ascot.
We have picked out three of our best bets for Saturday’s racing on ITV including a value play at each-way odds.
15:00 Haydock – Haatem
Haatem won one of the races of the week at this year’s Royal Ascot, the Wolferton Stakes. That may have only been a Listed contest but it could hardly have been any more competitive and he got the better of borderline Group 2 calibre of rivals.
On the face of it, his subsequent Ascot defeat in the Summer Mile was disappointing but he was unsuited by the slow gallop and the drop back to a mile that day failed to bring his stamina into play.
Expect him to bounce back stepping back up to 10 furlongs now and he still has potential for further improvement back at this sort of distance. It’s also notable that James Doyle prefers him to Haunted Dream.

- Benefit from the unique Tote dividend as an alternative to normal fixed odds betting
- ITV Racing Tip 1: 15:00 Haydock – Haatem @ 10/3
15:20 Ascot – Showering
William Haggas has a cracking record at this meeting and he has a fascinating colt in the shape of Showering, who gets in the race having been first reserve after declarations due to a non-runner.
This son of Showcasing relished the step back up to six furlongs at Chester last time out when well supported and he did well to keep up a strong gallop after setting some quick early fractions.
He’s representing a yard running at a 30% strike-rate in recent weeks and he gives the impression that this even stiffer test will suit, so he has plenty of upside.
- ITV Racing Tip 2: 15:20 Ascot – Showering @ 7/1
- Brand new sportsbook launched, offering far more than just horse racing
- Benefit from the unique Tote dividend as an alternative to normal fixed odds betting
16:30 Ascot – Urban Lion
Hugh Bowman is one of the star attractions on show at Ascot on Saturday afternoon and he has a cracking book of rides so his hopes will be high of returning Down Under with a winner.
Unlike many of the international jockeys on show on Saturday, he has plenty of course experience after spells over here in 2007 and 2011 and his patient riding style is well suited to Ascot’s stiff course.
Arguably his best chance of the day is on board Urban Lion in the finale on the card. He’s been flying this season, returning with a Chelmsford success before a narrow defeat at Newbury and he then beat a Sandown specialist at the Esher track.
His subsequent run on the straight course here at the Royal meeting was another big effort, beaten roughly two lengths and this is nowhere near as competitive as the Royal Hunt Cup he contested then.
He’s still unexposed having just his 10th start and the ground has come in his favour once again.
- ITV Racing Tip 3: 16:30 Ascot – Urban Lion @ 7/2
- Brand new sportsbook launched, offering far more than just horse racing
- Benefit from the unique Tote dividend as an alternative to normal fixed odds betting
