Anfield showdown could be a classic
City head to Liverpool on Sunday knowing they probably need to be close to perfect between now and the end of the season if they are to deny Arsenal the Premier League title, and even that may not be enough.
Liverpool are also in desperate need of the points as they battle for a top-four finish and both of these sides come into the game in reasonable form.
The Reds have just one defeat in 16 games across all competitions and City have just two losses in their last 19. Picking a winner is a tough task, so the goals markets could be the better angle and over 3.5 looks like a strong option.
Liverpool have scored at least two goals in four consecutive games and in nine of their last 12 games, while City have also struck at least twice in their last four outings and their last two assignments have seen four or more goals.
Recent meetings between these sides haven’t necessarily been goalfests and there have been a couple of cagey affairs, although City did win the reverse fixture 3-0 earlier this season.
However, the circumstances now are perhaps a little different in the fact both teams will feel they need a win.
An early goal could open the floodgates and as both defences have been a little suspect, a breakthrough may come early which can set the tone for the rest of the contest.

Cherki a candidate for a goal
City relied almost exclusively on Erling Haaland for their goals in the first couple of months of the season but he is going through a bit of a dry spell by his standards and that has opened up the door for others to contribute.
One man who has stepped up to the plate is summer signing Rayan Cherki, who has hit four goals in his last seven games.
Cherki came off the bench in the midweek EFL Cup win over Newcastle but should come back into the starting line-up on Sunday after scoring against Spurs in the last round of Premier League games.
