City can turn the tide
Manchester City will need to overturn a 3-0 deficit against Real Madrid if they are to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and while that is no simple task, it may be a little more obtainable than the to qualify prices suggest.
Of course, the Citizens were second best at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Real scoring three first-half goals to secure a healthy advantage.
Los Blancos will once again carry a major counter-attacking threat, but City are not out of the tie.

The Citizens have won 18 of their last 22 home games and they have scored 61 goals in that impressive run. It’s clear that City have the firepower to turn the tie in their favour, and while it was not displayed last week, the Manchester men are a superior side to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have lost to Getafe, Benfica (twice), Osasuna, Albacete, Barcelona, Celta Vigo, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City this season, with City beating the Spaniards 2-1 in Madrid in the league phase of the competition.
Alvaro Arbeloa’s men aren’t at the top-level of European football and their effort in last season’s Champions League indicates that they can suffer heavy defeats.
Real were crushed 3-0 by Arsenal in London last term and then also beaten 2-1 on home turf by the Gunners in the return leg.
Of course, the Madrid men are starting from a position of strength, but they will be under maximum pressure in Manchester and a first-half goal for City would really test Real’s resolve.
It’s a tall order for Guardiola’s men to swing the tie in their favour, but the 4/1 on offer looks to hold some value.

Goals to flow as City chase comeback
City have played 23 matches at the Etihad this season and and those contests are averaging 3.35 goals per game.
The goalscoring action has come in matches where City do not need to chase qualification in a second leg tie but the Citizens’ predicament on Tuesday night is only likely to increase goalmouth action.

Semenyo has the solution
Antoine Semenyo has 11 goals in his last 21 appearances for either Bournemouth or Manchester City and the Ghana international could be City’s chief threat on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old has hit a total of 17 goals this season and has also provided four Premier League assists.
Semenyo is fancied to score or create against Real Madrid.
