Man United take on Newcastle on the weekend, and while Man United haven’t got much to play for in the Premier League, Newcastle are chasing a spot in the Champions League. We caught up with former Man United hero Paul Parker, who shared his thoughts on the match.
Man United have had a poor season and it hasn’t helped result wise to bring Ruben Amorim in so far, and this weekend they are facing in-form team Newcastle, which according to Parker, will be a tough challenge for The Red Devils.
He believes it will be impossible to take control of the match and he calls Newcastle the favourites ahead of the match.
Newcastle will be the favourites against Man United
In recent years Newcastle have been the better team, and Parker believes that will be shown on the pitch as well as he says Man United probably can’t take control of the game in which Newcastle will be the favourites.
“I don’t think Man United can take control of the game against Newcastle. Newcastle is on a massive high and this will be their first home game since the League Cup final, so there will be completely sold out.
“It is going to be difficult. It is a big game and a high intensity game, so it will be important to have the right personnel with players who want to run. Newcastle’s midfield is working so hard and they go forward very quickly.
“Newcastle will be the favourites and they are really enjoying themselves right now.”
The match kicks off Sunday afternoon at St. James’ Park, where Newcastle have only lost four matches this season in the Premier League, while Man United have only managed to win four matches away, which definitely suggests it will be a tough test for Man United.
