Newcastle return to the Champions League after a season’s absence and face one of the toughest tests to begin their campaign.
They host Barcelona, who are expected to have too much quality for a Magpies side that has not been overly impressive so far this season.
They began with a goalless draw at Villa Park, but Aston Villa have still failed to score four games later. Then they lost 3-2 to Liverpool, recorded another goalless draw and edged lowly Wolves 1-0.
