In-form Magpies can continue charge
It’s now nine victories in a row for Newcastle, with six of those in the Premier League, following a comfortable 3-0 success over Wolves on Wednesday. Eddie Howe’s men have now moved into fourth and go into Saturday’s early kick-off nine points behind leaders Liverpool.
Newcastle have only lost twice on home soil this term and have already faced Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa on Tyneside. Up next, they face a Bournemouth team who are inside the top-eight after going eight games without defeat.
The Cherries are unbeaten in their last five on the road, which includes a win at Old Trafford and draws at Fulham and Chelsea. Injuries, though, appear to be taking their toll on the Bournemouth squad, especially in forward positions, with Evanilson, Enes Unal, Luis Sinisterra and Marcus Tavernier all on the sidelines.
The Magpies are unbeaten in their last five meetings with Bournemouth at St James’ Park, twice coming from behind in last season’s clash to draw 2-2.

Gordon staking an England claim
Alexander Isak is rightly taking a lot of the headlines in recent weeks, with the Swedish star bagging 15 goals in 19 league appearances. Isak though would be the first to hand praise to the Newcastle wide players, especially England international Anthony Gordon.
The former Everton man has six goals and four assists to his name and his level of consistency will certainly have caught the eye of new Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel.
Gordon has scored three goals in the last four Premier League games and has a good record against Saturday’s opponents. The 23-year-old scored from the penalty spot in this fixture last term and also found the net at the Vitality Stadium back in August, when the two teams drew 1-1.

Burn faces pacey test
Newcastle are in the bottom half of the Premier League yellow card stats table, although four of their squad have reached four or more cautions so far this season. Amongst that group is Dan Burn, with the centre-back having been booked six times already in 20 league appearances.
Burn, who was yellow carded in the reverse fixture, will have his hands full trying to keep a reign on the Cherries pacey front line. One of those attacking threats is Antoine Semenyo, who scored in the midweek 2-2 draw at Chelsea.
The Ghana international is seventh in the Premier League’s shots on target stats, with 24 in 20 appearances to date. The two teams have also shared 256 corners between them this season – Bournemouth 135 and Newcastle 121 – with both in the top-eight of the Premier League corner standings.
