Michael Carrick’s decision to restore Kobbie Mainoo to the United midfield has eased the pressure on outgoing superstar Casemiro.

Carrick’s golden touch to run for another week
Even when they aren’t playing well, Manchester United under Michael Carrick are finding ways of winning, and that’s a great knack to have.
Against Crystal Palace on Sunday, they were desperately poor for 45 minutes and deservedly behind, only for Eagles’ scorer Maxence Lacroix to receive a questionable red card, and the game changed.

This could turn nasty for Howe and United should see this as a golden opportunity to pile the pressure on the Magpies’ boss.

Home plight should see Toon card count rise
These are tense times on the Tyne, best illustrated by the 15 cards Newcastle have been shown in their past five league outings.
