13:50 Newmarket – War Hawk
Day 2 kicks off with a highly anticipated class two handicap over 1m2f and the majority of these runners arrive here off the back of either a first or second-place finish in their latest run, highlighting the competitive nature this opener holds.
While a case can be made for many, Simon and Ed Crisford’s hat-trick seeking War Hawk seems most appealing.
The choice of top jockey Ryan Moore, War Hawk arrives here off the back of a solid win at Epsom last time out in class two company. Not only has he managed to win in this company, but many of his current rivals have yet to prove themselves in this high a level of race.
The three-year-old is up 10lb since he started his hat-trick bid back at Chester at the end of May, but that still might not be enough to stop him.
While his adaptability to quick ground conditions remains somewhat unexposed, his overall form and the confidence placed in him by Moore suggests if he takes to it well he will have a great opportunity to score.

15:35 Newmarket – Cinderella’s Dream
The feature of the day is the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes for fillies and Mares over a mile and this looks to be a fascinating renewal, as the 1-2 from the Duke of Cambridge stakes at the Royal meeting are set to lock horns once more.
While Wathnan Racing’s Crimson Advocate put in one of the performances of the meeting when coming from last to first to claim victory, Godolphin’s Cinderella’s Dream looks poised to take revenge.
That day at Royal Ascot, Cinderella’s Dream was running under a 3lb penalty for her win in the Dahlia in May and was having her first start at mile in over a year.
Following that second-placed finish, jockey William Buick stated how a return to a straight track would be his preference, naming this race as the perfect opportunity for her to bounce back to form.
She is a Group 1 winner abroad and clearly a horse with bounds of ability and will be hoping a return to level weights can provide her with the best opportunity for success.

17:20 Newmarket – Catch Cunningham
The final race of the day is a tricky five furlong handicap that could turn out to be a great opportunity for former course and distance winner Catch Cunningham to bounce back to form.
Michael Herrington’s six-year-old finds himself without a win in 14 races and, as a result, finds himself 2lb lower than his last winning mark and will be hoping it is one he will be able to exploit.
He was sent off as favourite last time out at Lingfield but could only muster a fourth-placed finish.
The quick ground underfoot won’t be an issue for him as connections will be hopeful he can make it two wins from two on the July course in the finale.
