Who are the favourites to become the next Celtic manager?
Favourite O’Neill is the most experienced manager in the list and has managed across England and Scotland. He has managed the likes of Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, Sunderland, Norwich and Aston Villa. He has also been in charge of the Republic of Ireland.
Celtic fans remember O’Neill fondly from his time in charge of the club from 2000-2005. O’Neill managed 266 matches, winning 200 and helping Celtic to many titles and trophies. He returned as caretaker manager of the club earlier this season, winning seven games and losing just once, showing that he could still be a good short-term appointment for the Bhoys should they want someone to bring stability back to the team.
Maloney, who is 10/3, is someone the club knows well as he is currently a Development Coach at the Bhoys. He has also got experience as a manager after spells at Hibernian and Wigan and has taken charge of 134 matches across these two clubs. Already having managerial experience in the Scottish Premiership is a huge bonus for Maloney.
Ange Postecoglou is 6/1 and he would be a fun appointment. Like O’Neill, Postecoglou has managed at Celtic before, winning five trophies, including two Scottish Premiership titles. He managed 113 games for the club, winning 83 and losing just 18. Despite a poor spell most recently at Nottingham Forest and also being sacked by Spurs after winning the Europa League, Postecoglou could be an exciting appointment for Celtic.
