Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior is now the heavy favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge, after Enzo Maresca’s time as Chelsea’s manager came to an abrupt end.
A mixture of bad form, which has seen Chelsea record just one win in their last seven Premier League matches, and a tense relationship between the board and Maresca has sped up the pace of Chelsea’s decision, with a statement released on New Year’s Day confirming that “Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track.”
Chelsea next manager betting odds
Given the links between Chelsea and Strasbourg, it shouldn’t be too surprising to see Ligue 1 manager Liam Rosenior listed as favourite to be installed as The Blues’ new manager. Rosenior had been available to back at 8/1 as recently as Wednesday afternoon. However his odds have been repeatedly cut, and he’s now no bigger than 1/20 to step in.
A William Hill spokesman was discussing the betting ups and downs over the weekend and claimed they had seen a run of money for Filipe Luis. The Brazilian’s time at Stamford Bridge was brief, playing just 26 times, but he did manage to pick up a Premier League winners’ medal in that period. Luis took over at Flamengo in 2024, but he extended his contract last Monday, and so moving on now would be quite a turnaround.
