Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a new manager after Thomas Frank was sacked following their 2-1 loss to Newcastle earlier this week. Initially, UK betting sites had Roberto De Zerbi and John Heitinga vying for the role, but there has been concerted money for former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, giving fans hope that he could be in line for a sensational return to North London.
Next Spurs manager betting odds
For the time being, De Zerbi and Heitinga continue to lead the betting to become the next Spurs manager. However, the big market mover is Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine could have been backed at 12/1 when Frank’s departure was first announced. However the current USA manager has been steadily backed, and is now just 4/1 – and as short as 5/2 in places – to return to his former club.

Who are the favourites to be the next Spurs manager?
Roberto De Zerbi managed great things whilst in charge of Brighton as they qualified for the Europa League for the first time in their history, whilst he was in the dugout. He recently left Marseille, but he was crucial in helping the French club qualify for the Champions League last season.
John Heitinga is also in the running. He is currently the assistant manager at Tottenham, and is taking charge of training in Frank’s absence, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see the Dutchman take over, possibly as an interim manager until the end of the season. The former Everton and Ajax defender was assistant manager at Liverpool last season, helping Arne Slot win the Premier League in his first campaign in charge of the Merseyside club. He then became the manager of Ajax at the start of this season, but was sacked in November after just 15 games in charge.
Pochettino needs little introduction for Spurs fans. He had a fantastic record in his previous spell there, managing the club from 2014 to 2019. The 53 year old, who has also had spells at PSG and Chelsea, managed 293 matches at the North London club and had them consistently battling or qualifying for the Champions League. He famously led Spurs to the final of Europe’s most prestigious competition in 2019, but they ultimately lost to Liverpool in Madrid.
Fans still have a lot of love for Pochettino, and this grew even more following a recent interview in which he spoke about his continued passion for the club. The interview also reignited rumours that he could make a return to the club.
Meanwhile, Robbie Keane, who scored 122 goals in 306 appearances for Spurs, is also in the running, but there are concerns over his lack of managerial experience at a high level, with the Irishman currently managing at Ferencvaros.
