The pressure is massively on Nuno Espirito Santo after West Ham suffered defeats to both Wolves and Nottingham Forest. Reports are now suggesting that the Hammers boss could be sacked.

Who are the favourites to be the next West Ham manager?
With Espirito Santo’s future hanging by a thread, it’s Bilic who is the favourite to take over. Both the fans and owners of West Ham know the Croatian well, as he has already had a spell in the Irons dugout. He also played for West Ham 54 times during the 1990’s.
Michael Carrick was 2/1 in the early betting, but he is now 4/7 and the new leading favourite. The former midfielder started his playing career at the club and is currently looking for a managerial job after leaving Middlesbrough last summer. Carrick was manager of Middlesbrough for 136 games, where he won 63 times, and lost 49. He had the club battling for the play-offs, but was unable to lead Boro back into the Premier League.
Bilic’s is next in the list. His time at the club is remembered fondly after he led them to a seventh-placed finish and Europa League qualification in 2015/16. The club then finished 11th in his second season, which was still a very respectable finish. His record was good as the Irons won 42, and lost 37 of his 109 games in charge. Bilic was sacked after a poor start to his third campaign, where West Ham had only managed two wins in 11. His reappointment would potentially give the club a short-term boost should the club sack Nuno, but he hasn’t managed since 2024, so there is an element of risk to his appointment.
Frank Lampard is 14/1 to take charge of West Ham, and his links to the club need little introduction. The former midfielder spent six years playing at Upton Park, scoring 39 goals in that period, but he left for Chelsea under a cloud, and was roundly booed by the West Ham faithful whenever he returned to face them. Lampard’s managerial career has been mixed, but he has rebuilt his reputation Coventry City, who are currently top of the Championship table.
