Forest to edge closer to Champions League spot
Forest have been the surprise package in the Premier League, having gone from narrowly avoiding relegation last season to now sitting in third position in the current campaign with nine matches remaining.
The Tricky Trees also booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1991 on Saturday evening, overcoming Brighton on penalties at the Amex Stadium after a goalless 120 minutes.
A first major domestic trophy since lifting the 1990 League Cup is just a couple of wins away for Forest, but they can’t take their eye off the ball when it comes to the league and the battle for a Champions League finish.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side head into Tuesday’s clash on a five-game unbeaten run and they haven’t lost at home in their last 10 fixtures, with Newcastle (twice) and Fulham the only teams to have come away from the City Ground with wins this term.
United showed improvement before the international break, winning their last two games in all competitions, but just one victory from their last four away fixtures shows they are still hard to trust, and they lost 2-1 in this fixture last season.

Fernandes to stay on the goal trail
While United may end up with nothing to show for their efforts, they look capable of getting on the scoresheet and Bruno Fernandes can continue his fine form in front of goal.
The Portugal international has scored five goals in his last three appearances for the Red Devils, netting once against Arsenal and Leicester either side of a hat-trick in the Europa League triumph over Real Sociedad.
A lot of United’s good attacking output has been down to Fernandes, who scored in December’s reverse fixture at Old Trafford to take his tally to three goals in eight matches against the Tricky Trees.
- Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United Bet 2: Bruno Fernandes anytime goalscorer @ 3/1 with bet365
Elanga can test out the goalkeeper
Forest are expected to be without top scorer Chris Wood for the second game running and that means other players will have to step up in his absence, with Anthony Elanga looking good value to get at least one shot on target.
The 22-year-old Sweden international has tested the goalkeeper at least once in three of his last four appearances and he can hit the target once again at the City Ground.
- Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United Bet 3: Anthony Elanga to have over 0.5 shots on target @ SP with bet365
