The Open Championship Betting Tips & Predictions
Xander Schauffele will tee it up as the defending champion following his two-stroke victory at Royal Troon 12 months ago.
Irishman Shane Lowry was the popular winner when Royal Portrush last held The Open, in 2019, and the 38-year-old will fancy his chances of collecting a second Claret Jug.

Fleetwood ready to take the next step
A lot has been made of Tommy Fleetwood still waiting for his first PGA Tour title, after agonisingly missing out at the Travelers Championship last month.
The Englishman though should take plenty of positives from not only that tournament, but also his recent form.
Fleetwood has five top-10 finishes to his name this season and enjoyed a decent showing at last week’s Scottish Open, when he ended the four rounds T34.
Having been brought up playing on links courses in the North West of England, this tournament has always been seen as his best opportunity to win a Major.
The 34-year-old has three top-10 finishes in The Open, including a runner-up spot the last time the event was played at Royal Portrush.
Fleetwood is currently ranked fourth in the PGA Tour scoring charts and should be full of confidence on his way to Northern Ireland.

Fitzpatrick has Ryder Cup in his sights
With just two months until the Ryder Cup, several European and American players will have qualification on their mind going into The Open.
Matt Fitzpatrick is currently ranked 30 in the European standings and, having played in the last two matches, is facing the prospect of missing out at Bethpage Black.
The 2022 US Open champion is threatening to finish the year strongly though and potentially earn a captain’s pick and a second Major title.
Fitzpatrick started to indicate a return to form with a T8 finish in the PGA Championship and he has a form line of T17-T8-T4 in his last three events.
The T4 finish came at the Scottish Open when the Yorkshireman carded a second-round 63 and it’s worth noting that he finished inside at the top-20 at Royal Portrush in 2019.

Cantlay needs Tour form in the Majors
It’s two years since Patrick Cantlay was last in the winner’s enclosure, but there have been positive signs that the former world number three is getting back to his best.
After a T36 finish at the Masters, the Californian then missed the cut at both the US Open and PGA Championship.
The signs around those two events though have been positive, with three top-15s and one top-five finish on the PGA Tour.
Seven of Cantlay’s last eight rounds have been sub 70 and he took the decision to head to Royal Portrush early rather than to play at last week’s Scottish Open.
The American has a previous top-10 Open finish to his name, at St Andrews in 2022, and was T41 at Royal Portrush having been just three shots off the pace after round one.
