Paul Parker Issues Jadon Sancho Verdict Amid Man United Fallout

The future of Jadon Sancho has been the main talking point amongst Manchester United supporters, with the winger falling out of favour with Erik ten Hag in recent weeks. Sancho has found regular game time hard to come by with the Red Devils, and with his work ethic in training seemingly not being up to the standards that ten Hag has set, Sancho’s future remains unclear.

Here at mybettingsites.co.uk, we caught up with former Manchester United man Paul Parker, who issued his thoughts on the Sancho debate, as well as name-dropping a player that he would have liked to have seen his former side sign during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United Have Played A Role In Ruining Sancho’s Career

Parker is also someone who has been hyper-critical of Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, who has fallen out with Ten Hag and been banished from the United first-team squad until his disciplinary issues have been resolved.

Following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s interview with The Athletic yesterday, it was revealed that United signed Sancho, knowing his preference for playing on the left, a position that Rashford has made his own. Parker believes that Manchester United has ruined Sancho’s reputation and career in England.

“Now, Man United are tied to play with him on the left. So, we can turn it around and say: The the reason why Jadon Sancho has been a flop? We don’t know, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just said that Man United bought Sancho, being well aware that he prefers to play on the left.

“First of all, my question is: Why did they buy him if he can only play the same position as Marcus Rashford? It doesn’t make any sense. Man United could have saved a lot of money.

“It was bad recruitment and Sancho could probably have had a great career in another club but now the club played a huge part in ruining his career and his reputation in this country.

“Sancho will never get a chance on the left because of Marcus Rashford. We can say the same thing about Antony. Wouldn’t it be good to see what he can do on the left wing? Of course, it would but it’s impossible.”

Manchester United are priced at 3/4 on Fitzdares to beat Burnley this weekend, where they’ll be desperate to pick up a morale-boosting three points at Turf Moor.

‘Manchester United Should Have Signed Trossard’

Since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, significant questions have been raised about the cohesion and chemistry within the Manchester United dressing room, spanning from Louis van Gaal’s era to Erik ten Hag’s current tenure.

The problem is that he knows he can do whatever he wants because Man United doesn’t have a replacement for him

Parker contends that because Rashford knows he’s guaranteed to start on a weekly basis, Rashford feels as though he can do as he pleases. Parker takes it a step further and asserts that United should have competed with Arsenal for the signing of Leandro Trossard, whom he believes would have been a starter for the Red Devils.

“The problem is that he knows he can do whatever he wants because Man United doesn’t have a replacement for him. Arsenal went and got Trossard for a very good price and even though he is not playing he is a big reason why Martinelli is playing well. He knows that he has teammates that push him to do his best every single time.

He goes on to add that there should have been more activity in the transfer market and that “Man United should have signed Trossard. He would in fact be a starter for Man United. Man United looked at his age and decided not to buy him. What a player to miss out on.

“Man United has serious problems when it comes to characters in the dressing room and Rashford is a part of that and I think that we haven’t questioned his character enough. But maybe it’s time to do that.

“The teammates make or break you and Rashford needs to understand that because the teammates will start questioning him as well. If the teammates start to lose the trust in you, then you have a massive problem and Rashford needs to be careful.

“His bad attitude will also start affecting his teammates and to be perfectly honest, it looks like a lot of Man United players are not committed to this club. I’m not putting all the blame on Rashford but he plays a part.”
