Premier League Darts Predictions and Betting Tips: Night Five

Updated on

Our darts betting expert offers up his three best Premier League Darts betting tips and predictions ahead of their Brighton showdown on Thursday.

Luke Littler is fresh from lifting the UK Open crown on Sunday and the Nuke is back in Premier League action as Night Five of the competition heads to the south coast for a battle in Brighton.

Premier League Darts Betting Tips

  • Luke Humphries to win Night Five @ 2/1 with Sky Bet
  • Gerwyn Price to beat Michael van Gerwen @ 19/20 with Sky Bet
  • Stephen Bunting to beat Nathan Aspinall @ 4/6 with Sky Bet

Humphries can win Brighton battle

The UK Open didn’t end with the blockbuster final between Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, as Cool Hand Luke lost 10-9 to James Wade in the Butlin’s quarter-finals.

However, the Newbury arrowsmith produced some mightily impressive performances in that competition and the former world champion looks a good bet to take the Brighton prize.

Humphries crushed Ryan Searle 10-0 with a 100.20 average in the fifth round of the UK Open, before putting up numbers of 101.59 in a 10-2 last-16 success over Ryan Joyce.

Cool Hand Luke was downed 10-9 by Wade in the quarters, but the Newbury man averaged 102.08 and it’s clear that the 30-year-old is at the top of his game.

Littler, Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen have all been housed in the top-half of the Brighton draw, away from Humphries, and the path looks clear for Cool Hand Luke to pick up the south coast prize.

Iceman can keep his cool

Michael van Gerwen appeared to be returning to something like the form of old in the early exchanges in the Premier League, but things have gone off the rails and the Green Machine appears to be a long way off his peak.

MVG could average only 92.88 when losing 6-5 to Rob Cross in the Premier League last week and Mighty Mike’s efforts in the UK Open didn’t offer a great deal of encouragement either.

The Dutchman was defeated by world number 57 Robert Owen in the Minehead event and that doesn’t look like the form to trouble Gerwyn Price.

The Iceman looks a decent bet to reach the semi-finals in Brighton.

Aspinall unlikely to dodge the Bullet

Stephen Bunting has yet to win a match in this season’s Premier League, but the Bullet can strike in Brighton.

The St Helens-born player has been performing better than that record suggests and he now gets a crack at an inconsistent opponent.

Nathan Aspinall’s 85.53 average in Dublin on Night Three is the lowest recorded in the competition this season and the Asp may struggle to dodge the Bullet in Brighton.
