Real Madrid vs Manchester City Betting Tips
Real Madrid knocked Manchester City out of the Champions League last season, so Pep Guardiola’s men will be out for revenge when the sides meet again at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
The 15-time European Cup/Champions League winners are already under severe pressure ahead of this League phase clash after suffering a shock home defeat to Celta Vigo on Sunday.
Los Blancos finished that match with nine men after two defenders were sent off while an injury to Eder Militao further limits Xabi Alonso’s options at centre-back.
The Premier League club can leap above Real Madrid in the standings with a win and will pin their hopes on lethal striker Erling Haaland again.
The Norwegian drew a blank in City’s 3-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday and also failed to score as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday Five.
- Thibaut Courtois Over 3.5 Saves @ 6/5
- Erling Haaland Over 2.5 Shots on Target @ 7/4
- Bet Builder – Haaland Over 2+ Shots on Target, Courtois 3+ Saves, Red Card in Match @ 9/1
Courtois could be kept busy by City sharpshooters
Real’s form has dipped alarmingly, with only two wins in their last seven matches and indiscipline surfacing in their weekend implosion against Celta Vigo.
Injuries to key defenders like Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ferland Mendy have left Alonso scrambling for solutions and Courtois has been tested more than usual recently.
Real have faced the seventh-most shots in the competition and only one goalkeeper, Bodo/Glimt’s Nikita Haikin, has made more saves per game in the League phase than the Belgian star.
Courtois has made at least four saves in all four of his European appearances this term and, with City averaging close to eight shots on target per game in Europe, the Madrid keeper’s Over 3.5 saves market appeals.

Haaland has been hitting the mark
Haaland trails Kylian Mbappe by four goals in the Champions League top scorers list and he will no doubt want to upstage the French striker in front of the Real Madrid fans on Wednesday.
The Norwegian’s shot volume has been pretty consistent across his three and a half seasons at Manchester City, but his output of shots on target has risen from around 1.8 per match to 2.1 this term.
In the Champions League, Haaland is averaging 2.68 shots on target per 90 minutes and with Guardiola unlikely to take off his world-class striker unless he is injured, backing the Over 2.5 Shots on Target market looks worthwhile.

Red card drama could continue
Real’s discipline is a major talking point at the moment. Their weekend collapse against Celta saw three players in total dismissed, with Brazilian striker Endrick given his marching orders from the bench without even kicking a ball.
Los Blancos have a history of fiery encounters with City, although last season’s two meetings passed off without much trouble on that front.
But with Alonso’s job now reportedly on the line, Real may play with desperation, while City’s physical midfield could provoke further flashpoints.
A red card feels a realistic outcome in this high-stakes clash, especially as the appointed French referee Clement Turpin has sent off three players in his last four matches.
