Hampden could be key to victory
Scotland stunned Greece with their 1-0 first-leg win on Thursday and they are capable of finishing the job on home soil this Sunday.
Steve Clarke’s men had to withstand some late pressure from Greece but Scott McTominay’s 33rd-minute penalty was enough to give the Scots a precious advantage.
The victory was Scotland’s third straight success in a four-match unbeaten run and confidence is high following triumphs over Poland and Croatia and a 0-0 draw with Portugal.
Scotland have played Greece on only three occasions, with two 1-0 wins to the Scots following a 1-0 Greece victory in 1994, and a similar outcome can be expected in their next meeting.
Scotland vs Greece Tip 1: Scotland to win @ 8/5 with bet365.
Familiar tale to play out
While Scotland’s win on Thursday was unexpected, there should be little surprise about the final scoreline.
Each of the three meetings between these teams have finished 1-0 and backing that outcome once more could yield a tidy return.
Greece will look to throw everything at their hosts but Scotland have become more resolute recently, keeping clean sheets in three of their last four outings. Greece, Croatia and Portugal have all been kept out in that run and another clean sheet could be on the way for the Scottish defence.
The Greeks have failed to score in two of their last three outings and they may struggle to break down a Scotland side that will be set up to keep things tight.
Scotland vs Greece Tip 2: Scotland 1-0 correct score @ 13/2 with bet365.
Great Scott to lead the way again
The goals may not flow at Hampden Park on Sunday but if Scotland manage to get on the scoresheet then it would be no surprise if Scott McTominay applies the finishing touch.
McTominay scored from the spot in the first-leg triumph and he has netted 10 goals this season for club and country since his move to Serie A side Napoli from Manchester United.
The all-action midfielder likes to get forward, and although he may have to play a more conservative role in this decider, McTominay has a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
Being on penalty duty helps the chances of him scoring again and it would be no surprise if he adds to his haul of 11 goals in 22 matches for his national side.
Scotland vs Greece Tip 3: Scott McTominay to score @ 10/3 with bet365.
