Spurs vs Chelsea Betting Tips

We’ve crunched the stats and reviewed the form guides to provide you with several data-driven betting tips. Check out our predictions for Saturday’s London derby below.

Spurs to earn local bragging rights

Although they’ve struggled on home soil so far this term, Tottenham head into Saturday’s contest in buoyant mood.

The North Londoners occupy third place in the Premier League table following a superb start to the new campaign, having amassed 17 points from their opening nine fixtures.

Chelsea also have reason to be confident, particularly when reflecting on the two teams’ recent head-to-head record.

Having last suffered a defeat in this fixture way back in August 2023, the Blues are gunning for a fifth consecutive triumph over Spurs.

Furthermore, Enzo Maresca’s side have already won twice on the road this season, thrashing London rivals West Ham in their first away outing before sealing Ange Postecoglou’s fate with a 3-0 victory at the City Ground.

However, a sequence of three losses in their last five league contests is surely a cause for concern.

In contrast, Spurs navigated through September and the majority of October unbeaten, but were eliminated from the EFL Cup in midweek after losing to Aston Villa 10 days earlier.

If Saturday’s hosts have serious designs on challenging for the title, they’ll need to secure maximum points in these types of matches.

Goals, Goals, Goals!

Both Spurs and Chelsea have demonstrated their immense attacking qualities during the early stages of the Premier League campaign, having each scored 17 goals already.

Only Pep Guardiola’s free-flowing Manchester City outfit can match this record, although the Citizens are able to utilise the majestic firepower of Erling Haaland.

Six of the Lilywhites’ first nine league contests produced three or more goals, although only two of these matches were staged at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Thomas Frank’s men haven’t kept a clean sheet at home since the opening weekend, while Chelsea’s failure to prevent the opposition from scoring continues to undermine their progress.

Nevertheless, the Blues join Spurs as one of only two sides to have netted more than 10 away goals this term, with the aforementioned triumphs over West Ham and Forest helping them in this regard.

Therefore, we can only assume there’ll be plenty of activity in both boxes on Saturday evening.

Kudus magic and Chelsea mischief

Mohammed Kudus has added a different dimension to Tottenham’s attack since sealing a lucrative summer switch from West Ham, as the Ghanaian continues to wreak havoc amongst opposition defences.

After setting up both of Richarlison’s strikes in August’s 3-0 triumph over Burnley, Kudus assisted the Brazilian once again to spark Spurs’ impressive comeback against Brighton.

A further two goal contributions came during a 2-1 victory against Leeds United at Elland Road, which highlighted the 25-year-old’s ability to both create and take scoring opportunities.

Chelsea’s disciplinary issues have been well-documented of late, with a series of first-team stars receiving their marching orders in recent weeks.

The Blues’ opening 14 fixtures across all competitions have produced a colossal seven red cards, with five of these being issued to Maresca’s men.

Could Kudus’ dazzling feet tempt the visitors into committing a high number of fouls? If so, we may see yet another Chelsea sending-off on Saturday evening.
