Super Bowl LX Tips
Our betting expert has three tips for Super Bowl LX as the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 11.30pm). Scroll down for the analysis behind his selections.
Seattle to get their revenge
Sunday’s showdown in Santa Clara, California, will give the Seattle Seahawks the chance to earn revenge over the New England Patriots in a repeat of the 2014 Super Bowl.
New England won 28-24 on that occasion, with Tom Brady helping his team to another success.
Seattle are considered the favourites for this weekend’s encounter and they deserve that tag. They scored 28.4 points per game, the third-highest total in the regular season, bettered only by the Los Angeles Rams and Patriots.
The Seahawks also have the best defence in the NFL in terms of points conceded, allowing only 17.2 per game on average across the regular campaign.
Mike Macdonald’s team have won their last nine games and it is hard to ignore their two wins over the Rams. They scored over 30 points in both meetings, while they only conceded six to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
They have more firepower on offence and the Patriots have shown signs of struggle in the postseason. They failed to score more than 16 points in wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos and that is simply not going to be enough to give the Seattle defence problems.

Low-scoring affair expected on the West Coast
The Super Bowl draws in fans from around the globe and one of the biggest sporting events of the year deserves to have a dramatic script.
Sadly for fans and TV viewers, the players will just be doing all they can to win and if both teams bring their A-games, this will be a low-scoring affair.
As previously discussed, Seattle conceded the fewest points per game in the regular season with 17.2. The Patriots are fourth in that category, having conceded only 18.8. One area that Mike Vrabel’s team have done well in the playoffs is defence as they have conceded a mere 26 points across their three postseason games.
Both teams will rely on their defences to get them out of trouble and with so much at stake, nerves are bound to play their part.

Maye to feel the heat
In only his second season in the NFL, Drake Maye has reached the Super Bowl and he deserves all the praise he has received for his performances.
What is even more remarkable is the success Maye has had with a below-average offensive line.
Maye was sacked 47 times in the regular season, while he has been sacked five times in each playoff game since the turn of the year.
Seattle’s robust and aggressive defence should have a field day on Sunday, with Maye set to struggle to stay upright throughout the match in Santa Clara.
Macdonald’s team registered 47 sacks in the regular season; only the Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers secured more.
