The 19th series of The Apprentice got underway with the usual mix of Alan Sugar puns and bumbling decision making from his prospective partners, before one of the 18 candidates suffered the obligatory firing.
Find out more about the show, including who are the early favourites to win The Apprentice this season.
The Apprentice Latest News
The first episode of series 19 of The Apprentice took us to Austria. Unlike previous years, the teams were immediately mixed up, and each tasked with putting together a holiday excursion. Emma S and Anisa were installed as the project managers, with the pair making a good early impression, despite plenty of errors from their teams. These including selling the tours at less than cost price and playing ‘rock, paper, scissors’ to determine how much one customer should pay to go on the tour.
Emma S’s team eventually came out on top, despite Nadia talking over many of her teammates’ deals and making a generally negative first impression. This left Anisa’s team in danger of being fired, with sub-team leader Carlo in plenty of jeopardy after managing to rub his rivals up the wrong way with his forthright views and lack of team spirit.
Ultimately though, it was Emma R who became Alan Sugar’s first firing, after she struggled to give him a strong enough reason to keep her on.

What we can probably say with some certainty is that the attitudes of Nadia and Carlo will probably come back to bite them at some point, and so the duo are currently the rank outsiders to secure Alan Sugar’s £250,000 investment.
Emma S is a natural favourite to win The Apprentice, having led the winning team in the first task, while Alan Sugar also spoke highly of Anisa for putting herself forward as the other project manager.
Frederick and Dean also find themselves towards the top of the betting, based on their business plans, while Keir’s days could be numbered if he repeats his ‘rock, paper, scissors’ routine.
