Spurs can extend winning run
Tottenham can build on three encouraging league wins recently by further hurting Manchester City at home on Wednesday.
Since Spurs have been able to welcome some key men back from injury, their results have picked up and successive top-flight victories over Brentford, Manchester United and Ipswich mean they are now looking up the table rather than down as the campaign begins to approach its climax.
City, meanwhile, suffered their eighth defeat of a painful season at home to rivals Liverpool on Sunday – a result that leaves the defending champions 20 points behind the runaway leaders and even in danger of missing out on the top four this term.
Pep Guardiola’s side have now lost four of their last six games in all competitions and are in a fight with Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Aston Villa to secure Champions League football for next season.
With just seven points separating third and ninth place in the table, they can ill-afford many more slip-ups in the coming weeks. However, Spurs have already beaten City twice this season – a stunning 4-0 success at the Etihad in the reverse league fixture and also 2-1 at home in the EFL Cup – and they will be confident of landing another blow on the struggling defending champions.

Kulusevski can hurt City
Dejan Kulusevski has enjoyed another impressive season for Spurs, scoring 10 goals and also weighing in with 10 assists in all competitions for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
The Sweden international rounded off the 4-1 win at Ipswich at the weekend with the final goal and he might be the value pick in the anytime goalscorer market on Wednesday.
The attacking midfielder has had 14 shots in total in his last seven appearances and has recorded one shot on target in each of his last three games.
City have struggled for clean sheets recently, keeping only one in their last nine games and, with Spurs rediscovering their attacking prowess lately, Kulusevski should be in the mood to further hurt the visitors’ defence.

Johnson and Marmoush to catch the eye in entertaining clash
Brennan Johnson returned to Spurs’ starting line-up at Ipswich after recovering from injury and he immediately made an impact, scoring twice in the first half-hour to set his side on their way to a comfortable victory.
The forward can build on that fine display by firing at least two shots on target in midweek as he looks to add to his tally of 14 goals in all competitions this season.
At the other end, Omar Marmoush could again carry City’s main attacking threat as Erling Haaland remains a slight injury doubt and the Egyptian looks capable of having at least three shots against Spurs.
Marmoush has been lively since joining from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, racking up a total of 18 shots in just seven appearances, including four in Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool.
Adding in both teams to score takes the Bet Builder up to 11/1. It seems likely there will be goals at both ends on Wednesday considering Spurs have scored in their last 18 home games, while City had found the back of the net for 16 successive games before they failed to get on the scoresheet on Sunday.
