French Open Betting Tips & Predictions
Following a turbulent clay swing and a wide-open WTA season, punters must decide whether to stick with Iga Swiatek, the three-time defending champion, at the 2025 French Open, or hunt for value elsewhere when Roland Garros gets underway on Sunday. Swiatek has lost only two matches in Paris in the last five years, but the Pole is a much longer price than usual this time around. She has not reached a final in 2025 and enters as the No.5 seed, facing a brutal draw and well-documented struggles with form and confidence.
New world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka has been the tour’s most consistent force since March and arrives in Paris as the favourite. Coco Gauff, runner-up in Madrid and Rome, and teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva, a 2024 semi-finalist, are both attractively priced and have the form and draw to mount deep runs too.
Sabalenka poised for a Paris breakthrough
While Swiatek is a four-time French Open champion and boasts a remarkable 35-2 career record in this tournament, her 2025 season has been uncharacteristically inconsistent. She has lost four of her last 10 matches and is openly dealing with mental and emotional challenges that have impacted her form.
For the first time since 2020, she enters Paris without a WTA title in the first five months and has slipped to No. 5 in the rankings.
Her early exits in key clay events at Stuttgart and Rome came either side of a 6-1 6-1 capitulation at the hands of Gauff in Madrid and she also suffered an upset loss to Zheng Qinwen in the Olympic semi-finals at Roland Garros last summer.
If that isn’t enough to deter anyone from backing Swiatek, her draw looks particularly tough from the fourth round onwards.
She could face Jelena Ostapenko (who she is 0-6 against in head-to-head matches) there, before fourth seed Jasmine Paolini (fresh off the Italian Open title) in the quarter-finals.
Having dethroned Swiatek atop the rankings and with a more favourable draw, Sabalenka is well-placed to claim her first Paris title.
The Belarusian has only lost twice since mid-March and is in the best clay-court form of her career.
She defeated Paolini in Stuttgart and Gauff at the Caja Magica and is 1-1 over two closely contested Madrid final clashes with Swiatek since 2023.
French Open Tip 1: Outright winner – Aryna Sabalenka at 5/2 with BoyleSports
- Plenty of promotions for existing customers
- Extra Place races available
Note Gauff’s improved game on clay
Gauff’s claims for a first French Open crown have been growing during her consistent clay court performances this spring.
The American, who lost to Swiatek in the 2022 final at Roland Garros, finished as runner-up in both of the big lead-up events in Madrid and Rome.
And she has been handed a favourable route through the early rounds, avoiding Paolini, Swiatek and Sabalenka, who are all in the other half.
Teen sensation Mirra Andreeva, who has produced some impressive results this year may block her path to the final, but Gauff has a 4-0 head-to-head record against the Russian, including three wins on clay.
French Open Tip 2: Outright winner – Coco Gauff at 5/1 with Sky Bet

Blast from the past could come good
Ostapenko is a former champion at Roland Garros and worth considering to mount another strong challenge at longer odds.
The Latvian powerhouse overcame Swiatek and Sabalenka during her successful week in Stuttgart last month and totally outplayed the Belarusian in the final to win 6-4 6-1.
That was her first victory over Sabalenka in four attempts and will give her a huge confidence boost should they meet in the Paris semi-finals.
The 27-year-old lost to compatriot Anastasija Sevastova in Madrid a couple of days after winning in Stuttgart and was unlucky to come up against an inspired Paolini in front of her home crowd in Rome.
French Open Tip 3: Outright winner – Jelena Ostapenko at 40/1 with Unibet
