Women’s Wimbledon 2025 Predictions and Tips
Sabalenka looks the one to beat
There are just three former winners in the field for this year’s Wimbledon women’s singles, which suggests it’s once again a wide-open contest.
Aryna Sabalenka has clearly been the best player on the WTA Tour so far this year, but has lost in both Grand Slam finals to date.
A three-set defeat to Madison Keys in Australia was followed by another three-set classic at the French Open, when she was defeated by Coco Gauff.
Around those two losses Sabalenka has won three WTA Tour titles, while also reaching the finals of two other tournaments.
She now heads to SW19 having reached the semi-finals on her last two appearances at the All-England Club, in 2021 and 2023.
Having withdrawn from the tournament last year and missed out on two Slam titles so far in 2025, the Belarusian will be desperate to make up for lost time.
The 27-year-old has been drawn to face a qualifier in round one – Canada’s Carson Branstine, who has never previously made the main draw at any Grand Slam event.

Queens run suggests Anisimova can challenge
Amanda Anisimova has moved inside the world’s top 15 players after an impressive run to the final at Queen’s Club earlier this month.
The American beat the first and third seeds at the HSBC Championship before making the quarter-finals in Berlin the following week.
Anisimova was knocked out in the qualifying rounds for last year’s Wimbledon, but is seeded 13 this year and won’t face another seed until the third round if things go according to plan.
A WTA tournament winner in Doha back in February, the 23-year-old did reach the quarter-finals at Wimbledon back in 2022.
Anisimova, who is at a career high in the rankings, is also in the opposite half of the draw to favourite Sabalenka.

Unseeded Maria a threat
After victory in the Queen’s Club event, Tatjana Maria reminded people just how dangerous she can be on grass courts.
The German, now 37, is a former Wimbledon semi-finalist and heads to this year’s tournament full of confidence after dropping just one set en-route to victory at Queens.
She defeated no fewer than four seeds on her way to lifting the trophy, including Australian Open champion Keys and world number 11 Elena Rybakina.
Maria is in the opposite half of the draw to Sabalenka, but could face third seed Jessica Pegula in the second round, however, the American is a player she has beaten in their two previous meetings.
