Grand National Favourites
Our team of betting experts have complied a short list of the 2025 Grand National favourites with bet365.
Intense Raffles – A second place finish at Fairyhouse last month has seen many back Intense Raffles as we get closer to this year’s Grand National. The 7-year-old is one of the favourites and if they can race at their best then they’re a serious contender to win the 2025 Grand National.
Stumptown – Stumptown won the Country Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March 2025, in one of the eye-catching performances of that week. They are in great form having won their last four races and have proven that they can do well in the ‘big events’. Stumptown’s price with the majority of betting sites has shortened in recent weeks, particularly after that strong showing at Cheltenham.
I Am Maximus – This horse won last year’s Grand National, and you’d be a brave punter not to back them once again if they can recapture their best form. He won by over 7l in last year’s event, but hasn’t been at his best this season, with an eighth-place finish at Leopardstown last time out, which came after being pulled up in another meeting at the same track late last year.
Grand National Betting Tips
Below, you’ll find our betting tips for the 2025 Grand National, and if you’re keen to find out more about Grand National outsiders, then head over to our dedicated page.
Iroko – Iroko has seen a decrease in odds across most betting sites as we approach the Grand National. It’s common for a horse to shorten in price leading up to the event, and this year, that horse is Iroko. After finishing second at Aintree last year, Iroko’s owner will be eager for a stronger performance in the 2025 Grand National, where they have a solid chance of winning if the conditions are favourable.
Monty’s Star – Coming second to a horse with the quality that Fact To File has at lat year’s Cheltenham Festival certainly isn’t a negative, and positives can be taken from that impressive showing from Monty’s Star. The 8-year-old has shown signs of real promise, and followed that strong Cheltenham performance with a fourth-place finish in the 2025 Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Vanillier – This horse made a costly error early on in the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase at this year’s Cheltenham Festival, but fought back brilliantly to finish third in that race behind Stumptown and Latenightpass. If Vanillier can stick in and around the front pack in the 2025 Grand National, then it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see them challenging the likes of Stumptown, Intense Raffles, and last year’s winner I Am Maximus for the win in this year’s race at Aintree.
