Who are the favourites to be the next Crystal Palace manager?
Thomas Frank heads the betting to become Crystal Palace’s new manager, and his links to The Eagles are unsurprising, with reports suggesting that he was among the names to join the South London club in the summer when they were looking for an Oliver Glasner replacement.
Frank did a remarkable job at Brentford, getting them promoted to the Premier League and turning them into a stable mid-table Premier League side. However, his last job at Spurs was a failure, with Frank sacked by the North London club after just eight months in charge.
Kieran McKenna is another name in the running. The Northern Irishman has been out of work since stepping down as Ipswich Town manager in June, having just guided them back to the Premier League with a second-place finish in the Championship. McKenna made his name by taking Ipswich from League One to the Premier League with back-to-back promotions, and while they were relegated after one season, he earned plenty of credit for bringing them straight back up.
Eddie Howe is also available after leaving Newcastle United in July. The 48-year-old spent five years at St James’ Park, guiding the Magpies to Champions League qualification in 2023 and 2025 and winning the 2025 League Cup, the club’s first major domestic trophy in 70 years. Last season was more difficult, with Newcastle finishing 12th, but Howe’s track record, which also includes taking Bournemouth from League Two to the Premier League, makes him one of the most sought-after managers on the market.
