Not much has changed this week in regards to the favourites for the Leicester City job, but this has made it clear that there are two leading contenders for the role, but there is also an outside favourite who has recently leapt into the running.
UK betting sites currently have Sean Dyche as the current favourite to step into the Leicester hotseat, but Danny Röhl is not far behind. Meanwhile, Lee Carsley has also entered the running for the job and is now amongst the favourites.
Next Leicester manager betting odds
The two front-runners in the Leicester City manager betting market come from contrasting backgrounds, making it difficult to predict the club’s preferred direction as they look to rebuild.
Sean Dyche is the current favourite, bringing with him a reputation as a no-nonsense manager capable of stabilising struggling sides. He famously guided Burnley to European qualification and more recently steered Everton to safety despite two separate points deductions.
Opting for Dyche would suggest a pragmatic approach from Leicester, particularly in light of their off-field challenges. Following relegation from the Premier League, the club now faces the threat of a points deduction due to alleged breaches of EFL financial rules.
Dyche’s style of football may come under criticism, but the manager has top experience in the Championship and no doubt would make Leicester one of the favourites to be promoted.

The prospective appointment of Danny Röhl would be viewed by many as a more progressive move, with the 36 year-old earning admirers for his efforts at Sheffield Wednesday.
Rohl is thought to be open to a move away from Hillsborough, though, given that The Owls have been banned from spending money on transfers until January 2027, having repeatedly failed to pay the wages of players. Their wages have reportedly not been paid for multiple months, with players now able to hand in their notice and leave the club.
New contender Lee Carsley recently helped England U21s win the U21 European Championships back-to-back, with the squad recently beating Germany U21s in the 2025 European Championships final. His odds were 50/1 when Leicester City’s search for a new manager started; however, they have now dropped to 5/1.
Carsley has also been touted for the England job and was caretaker manager of the senior squad from August – December 2024. The Irishman has never been the main manager at club level yet; however, he has been the assistant manager at Birmingham and Brentford.
Who is Danny Rohl?
Danny Röhl is currently the second favourite to take over as the next Leicester City manager, though those less familiar with the Championship might not immediately recognise the name.
The German is in charge of Sheffield Wednesday and has impressed since taking the reins, transforming the team from relegation candidates into a solid mid-table outfit by the end of last season.
Röhl is widely regarded as a manager with significant potential. Before taking on his first managerial role at Wednesday, he built up an impressive CV, serving as assistant manager for the German national team between 2021 and 2023, and previously holding similar roles at Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.
Known for favouring a 4-2-3-1 setup, Röhl blends a progressive playing style with tactical flexibility. His approach and top-level experience could make him a strong fit for a Leicester side looking to rebuild.
